I have a 8 inch rear that I recently had rebuilt with new 3.55 gears. The rear allegedly came out of a 1966 mustang. I am trying to figure out which wheel cylinders to use as apparently there are two different ones depending on date of manufacture. The wheels cylinders on the rear are rusted and have not been removed yet. Any ideas?

I just logged on and saw you are new here. Just wanted to welcome you to VMF.

I have a 9" rear end, so I can't help with the cylinder problem but I am sure someone here will.

The difference IIRC is the bore size of the cylinder. Either one will bolt up correctly.

If you replace both of them at the same time, it doesn't matter which one you use. Some parts stores don't even have the listing that tells them there's an early and a late part #.
