When it comes to rear gears I am pretty lame on it.
WHen buying a new ring and pinon gears. do I need to by Trac -loc specific gears or does the ring and pinon work on either.
See I told you I was Dumb on this.
I have an 8" trac - loc and am going to change my gears from 3.25 to 3.70 this winter. I would like to know what I am in for.
watch out at CF3 I am also tearing the front end of the 429 open and setting the cam 4* advance! I know that will kill the top end. but but it should turn the low end into a monster.
I don't need 135mph.

gears are the same for tlok, detroit, or open diffs...

changing gears is not something a person just does...they have to be installed right, and it usually requires unusual tools

Hey Thanks Jeff,
I will take you up on a trade!!!!! Even up!

I will check the valve to Piston clearence. I will hand crank it while I have the front off.
I don't think it will be a problem
