I have heard that some AC and parts houses will rebuild AC hoses. Is this possible? I have the original lines, but the rubber/lining is worn. I do not want to invest the $200+/- for reproduction hoses for an AC system that will rarely operate. Any advice will be appreciated.

I went to a hydraulic hose shop and walked out with custom hoses and no charge. Turns out the guys were Bronco fans (I was driving my '76). Anyway, you should be able to get new rubber and re-use the ends. They would just put on a new collet (I think that is what it is called).
Good luck,
Jim

I have had no problem having that done. Just pay the per foot price for the hoses, and 2 end fees. Check though, what coolant. For R-12, there is one fitting, and for R-134, a different one (O Ring Vs Flare) Bob
