Is it possible to make the seat backs recline on my mustang? I am about to redo my upholstry and reclining seats would be a nice addition.

The easiest way to get reclineing seats in you mustang, is to buy some late model seats. You can re-apulter them to match the interior and they are more comfy and safer IMO.

Other than that, I've never heard of converting early mustang seats to recline.

Reading either the owners manual for my 66 or some mustang book I saw that Ford offered a dealer installed version of this. It was just a screw in the seat that you adjusted and it adjusted the seatback accordingly. Not sure Ive ever seen one in a stang but Ford claims it exsisted. Maybe try something along the lines of that? Otherwise go for late model.

the large bolt in the seat is common to many cars, and grabbing a wrench and twisting it around certain adjusts the seat back, but that is a far cry from a reclining seat ;)
