I have the Remington R1S enhanced 45.acp. Very happy with it. Light smooth trigger pull. Very accurate.

I was stationed on an 82ft patrol boat while in the Coast Guard. We had a 10 man crew, one of my duties was weapons officer. We had 2 Browning M2 50 cals, 4 Remington 870s, 4 Colt M16A1s and 4 M1911A1s, one each from Colt, Remington, Ithaca and Springfield.

I loved those 1911s and wished I could have kept all four.

Made me think back to my second cousin from WW2. told me about several inspections on the way back....he lost the 4 1911's but got a Jap smg from his Pacific tour. Claimed it was a .25 caliber but it would of been something metric for sure. Never really believed it but actually saw it back in the 70's. Never fired it since he did not have a mag for it and he claimed it was legal since it did not have a mag l--not so sure about that now. Lost touch with him in the early '80's.He has long past now. Having said that, I bet there are a lot of war possessions still out there.
