I was looking through a box of letters and photographs last night. They were from my Navy days in Jacksonville, Florida during the 70s and I found some pictures of my old Mustangs. I thought they had been lost during one of my thousand moves.

These pictures really brought back some good memories like with the black 67 FB that I dropped a built 351C 4V (came from the 71 FB after I wrecked it). Unfortunately that engine became an anchor after I blew it up with less than 50 miles on the rebuild. I was a little hard on Mustangs then.

I think I had 6 that made it through my ownership more or less intact, including the 2 I have now. I am a kinder and gentler man to my Mustangs now ;).

I didn't mention my first Mustang cuz I couldn't find a picture of it. It was a white 69 fastback 302 w/ 3spd manual. It had a bad oil leak but I didn't know much about car maintenance then. It siezed up one day while driving it. It sat at the base auto hobby shop for about 6 months. They got a little tired of seeing it there so they told me I had to move it. Living in the barracks, I had no where to take it so..... there was a guy with a wrecked 72 Pinto. I bought the engine and auto transmission for $50. A buddy and I put it in the Mustang ::. My buddy fabricated motor mounts and a transmission crossmember and jury rigged a shifter. Sorriest sight you ever saw but I drove it for 3 months until I traded it for the 71 Fastback. The dealer never popped the hood and I never mentioned the engine. I would have loved to have seen the expression on his face  but I never heard from him.
