I need to replace the metal backed woodgrain on the glove box door. I have a new metal backed cover from Scott Drake.
I was wondering how, or should, I remove the original metal back piece, or put the new one over the top.
The hole for the opener is bigger on the new piece, which has me thinking I need to remove the old metal backed cover to put the new one on. It's not obvious how or if I can remove the old one without trashing the door.
I appreciate any thoughts or experience with this task.

Thanks!

Heat gun can do wonderful things when it comes to loosening applicays (sp? Too lazy to look up) when used judiciously. Work loose some edges and go from there. Alternatively, low temp warming in an oven will do the similar thing. Wear gloves or use hot pads with either method. Don't over heat and scald surrounding paint or other finishes. Patience is key.
