removing windshield goo

I'm getting to the point that I want to start working on my roof areas and seems smart for me to get the windshield adhesive cleaned off before I start sanding. Would a surface prep wax and oil remover like PrepSol liquify this stuff? Or should I use lacquer thinner? These were the two options I've considered. If possible I'd also like it to work on rubberized undercoating that the PO sprayed in my trunk areas. What solvent works the best?

FIRE! hehehehe - Solvents are the best. But nothing can beat free elbowgrease and a puttyknife! Simple Green Might work I use it exclusively on the inner fenders of my car, and it cuts through lots given enough time.
