Hope this is not to newbish type of question. What is the skill level and effort level to replace the door hinge stops. This is the part of the door hinge that holds the door open half way and full open. There is some king of spring loaded lever that is very warn out on my 66. Do the fenders need to be removed to get to it?

TIA

I've done them before. The real PITA is getting the spring back in there. You can compress it in a vise, wrap it with wire, install it then cut the wire or, if I have to do it again, buy a complete hinge already assembled.

I just replaced my drivers door stop and spring tonight. It wasn't that hard, just a pain getting the spring compressed. Just make sure to secure the spring as you are compressing it, they can pack a punch if they pop loose. I would recommend that you remove the fender for easier access. As long as the pins are not rusted in too bad, you shouldn't have a problem. Good luck.
