I am replacing a cam in my new rebuilt 86-91 302 HO motor with a B-303. I put the marks pointing toward each other and took the bolt out of cam sprocket but cant get the sprocket off. Is it ok to pry it off? Thanks,Tony

It's like a motorcycle sprocket; it has to be pulled STRAIGHT OFF......if it's really resistant to that, I MIGHT gently try a gear puller and as a last resort, 2 larger screwdrivers VERY GENTLY.

Just the way I'd do it.

Cool......good luck with the new cam!!

And if I might make one final suggestion, definitely use the cam break-in lube, AND INSTRUCTIONS....and if it didn't come with break-in lube and instructions, I'd get them from the cam manufacturer. The first 20 minutes are CRITICAL to prevent cam/lifter damage.
