Howdy all.

I was "spying" in on your new group here - to see how it was going, and I noticed
the discussions about this "Mustang Ranch" place...

If anyone is going to be going there soon, I have a request:

Can you grab some arm rests for me off of a 64.5 Mustang while you are there?

I emailed the guy and asked him to do it - but he didnt have any that were already
pulled, and didnt seem willing to go look at any of the cars for me.

You are probably asking - arent the 64-66 arm rests all the same?

No - there really is a difference on the early ones. An MCA judge pointed out
to me that my car had one of each, and I'm looking for one or two of the older
version handle.

I will take one with faded / missing chrome and then just repaint if I have to.
Just trying to avoid lots of deep scratches if possible.

If you look at this photo you can see what I'm talking about.

The earlier handles, when mounted, have a narrower hole for you
to fit your hand into, and have sharp corners on top where your hand
goes in too.

The later arm rests look almost the same, but have a wider opening
for your hand, and beveled corners where your hand goes in.

The earlier one is on the right and the later one is on the left in
the photo.

More than likely, you will find the older style arm rests in 64.5
Mustangs made before the middle of May, 1964.

Thanks! And let me know if there is anything in Chicago that I can do for
one of you! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Jason, I will most likely be out there tomorrow (Tuesday) to get some parts for a 69 I'm working on, will check for you. I worked @ the Ranch for a few years and know most of the stock. Ah, the good old days /forums/images/icons/smile.gif On a brighter note, I don't have to put up with Ed Lincon anymore, and I make about 1000% more $ than when I was there, now that I own my own restoration shop /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Will PM you if I find anything.
