I purchased a one owner, 1966 convertible, in November 2018. I spent about 6 months making sure it was reliable. New brakes from the master cylinder to the drums (they were still in spec). fuel system tank, lines, pump, carb (2bbl). Cooling new radiator and water pump, The car was a high school graduation, she drove it thru college, graduated in 73 and joined the Air Force. The car was last licensed in 1977. Her dad retired from the Air Force as a pilot and moved to Florida and took the car in his garage. She retired as an Air Force pilot in 1990, took the car to Sears, new tires and shocks, took it to her new home in Florida parked it in her garage and never drove it again. My 40 year old son found it, in 2016, she didn't want to sell it at that time, but called him when she was. Getting it reliable was 2019 project.
