I am restoring the J-code engine for my Fastback.
I've found the matching number engine for the car, but it is without aircleaner, carburator and I'm probably changing the valve covers.
I'm trying to figure out what will give a good performance and look great.
Feel free to post suggestions on this.

I think I'm going for Edelbroch, but there are so many to choose from, and I'm not sure what the difference is. (Is Edelbroch even preferable to fx. Holley?)
See the list here: Ford Mustang Carburetor | Free Shipping | 1967 - 1985, 1970 - 1985, Edelbrock

Any thoughts on where to buy high quality/original engine parts such as: Piston rings, connecting rod bearings, gasket kit etc.?

Cylinderheads seems original though I can't find "4bbl" anywhere. Writings on these are: F, D, 20, 302, 4V, 68, C8OE, date code 7M22 (datecode for the engine block is 7M20). I'm not sure where to look for the "4bbl" - if anyone can send a picture, it would help a lot.

Thanks for reading and I will appreciate all replies.

Have an Autolite 4bbl carb w/spacer - off my 68' J code engine - Autolite buck tag on the carb states - C8ZF D - top #'s - bottom #'s B 7L28 - prolly will need to be gone through but its all there and complete!

That 4V highlighted in red above caught my eye. IMO, that would be your "4bbl" designator. However, I'm sure someone with much more J code experience than I will speak up to confirm or correct me.
