Hello
I have a 64 1/2 Mustang. A local shop built a 70 302 for a guy but he ran out of money and I can get the engine for a good price-and the shop does great work.

Can I use all my engine comnponents such as 64 1/2 timing cover, generator, dipstick, motor mounts etc on the 70 302 long block without any problems? I know the 70 issue is a 6 bolt block vs the 64 1/2 5 bolt but I have another 6 bolt bellhousing and toploader.

I want to keep the engine compartment looking like a 64 1/2

Thanks

All the 64 1/2 parts will bolt onto the 70 302. Be sure to use the 64 1/2 damper to retain the stock 3 bolt pulleys...

Use the 64 1/2 engine colors and the 64 1/2 intake (visible date code), etc.

This is not a new issues. Lots of 5 bolts and 289's were swapped out along the way for 302's since that was what was cheap in the salvage yard.
