I just got my engine back from the machine shop, and C4 rebuilt. Its been several years since I separated the C4 from engine. I don't remember if there was RTV or anything between the C4 and bellhousing, or is it just metal to metal? Thanks for any input.

Yes. Do you still have the large half-moon shaped spacer plate though? No sealers, just block, metal plate, c4.

I read the title of the post, and thought you meant between bellhousing and block.
No RTV between bellhousing and C4. But, I think some of the bolts go into oil. I'd use thread sealant on all the bolts.

Yes I have 3 metal plates to mount the bellhousing to block. I will use thread sealer on the bolts. Thanks, for the information. I did not remember any gaskets or sealant, but it was almost 10 years ago.
Whew, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! I have finally started to re-assymble- I just put in the rear end and next I will put in the front suspension so we can roll the shell around to paint.
