Does anyone out here in SoCal know about proper engine colors for a 641/2 260. My father (original owner) swears that the block and valve covers have always been a blue which looks lighter than the Ford blue I am using. He does not believe that block was ever black.

The 65.5 260 featured a black engine block with a blue air cleaner and blue valve covers.

Hope this helps.

Black block, blue valve cover, blue air cleaner, black snorkel (on the air cleaner) , natural finish on the wing nuts (air cleaner), black oil cap. The blue is not the same as used for a 66 (Corporate blue), if you go to a pepboys and look at the paint section you will see they sell two types of ford blue, I think old ford blue is the one for you, Plasti-cote Ford Blue #224 is for the 66 (Corporate blue).
All the best.
