I was reading some of the old posts from the old forum regarding timing. I learned a lot from the posts but I still can't figure out whether to set the timing to 12 initial on the balancer or to where I get the highest vacuum?

If you're sure TDC is correct on your damper, set with a light to 8-10 BTDC...vacuum advance disconnected and idle at approx. 750rpm

If not sure, do WOT ping method....it should be described in previous posts on the subject..

Just my 2 cents. If the engine is stock, set it with the light to factory specs. If its not stock, I always use the WOT ping method then check it with the light to see where it is, so you have a baseline to work from later when you make more mods.
