Further to the 429 SCJ 69 S/R story . The bloke also said that the car had been used for running Moonshine (car was found in Carolina ) It was yellow but the moonshiner painted it black out of a spray car so it wasn't so visable.

Any body remember the movie "Thunder Road" with Robert Mitchum and the 49 (?)single and twin spinners . Good movie that .

Would be good to have a car with that sort of history .

Looks like we are getting all the good ones and taking them out of the country /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I remember Mitchem driving that black 1957 Ford coupe; did that car have a 312 with supercharger? Someone at Knott's All Ford show had a '57 Business coupe made into a Thunder Road replica; nice car and looked hot enough to run like snot.

Hmmmmm....interesting that they didn't want anyone to see the car comming...but, with a 428SCJ, I am sure they would have been able to hear it comming!!

And what a great song!
Mitchum's landmark theme of the '60s...

"Let me tell a story, .. I can tell it all.."
