This Shelby listed on Ebay is about 20 minutes from my house. I talked to the guy today and he will let me take it for a ride. Anybody out there have interest in bidding? If you are e-mail me with a list of questions so I can check it out for you.

(I really just want to drive it)

Damn nice car!

Did you ask him what's the deal with the private auction? Hiding the bidder's identity or covering himself?-have started to see a few of these private auctions now with cars and parts.Looks like a nice car, I wonder what the reserve is, what is a value of one of these today? I say show up with a pair of leather driving gloves and a crash helmet, and see the look on his face when you ask for the keys - don't mention seeing Gone in 60 seconds....

I can see it now...John Boggs pulls a Bob Dooley: hocking all the cars, house, wife, and kids for a genuine Shelby! Next thing you know, we'll be seeing T-shirts with DeWayne on it for sale on the forum to help pay it off.

BTW, I wonder why the car pics show CA license plates, yet he lives in Atlanta. You would think more up-to-date pictures would be availabe. me check your shorts! My multimeter is just a-waiting! Formerly known as Midlife in the old VMF.

OK - Just pose as a fabulously wealthy Internet entrepeneur (sp?) (sorry I forgot - those dudes are broke now!) - pose as a rich guy and go drive that sucker!!!
Or say a pal from the VMF who lives in Florida is looking to buy it, and has sent you to drive and inspect it.
Afterwards, give the seller Midlife's phone number...hehehe - Dickson

What I'm seeing here is a little kid goin'...."Don't sell my graduation present daddy!!"

I need one of those. I really do...I really really really do!

If you check it out give it a good going over. It would be really cool to have a comparison of what we see on eBay vs. what we as VMFers know.

Also find out about that "Purtronics" system. I assume we are talking about an additional 300hp or something /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
