OK, so when I shift via my shifter, when I actually feel the trans shift, the shift lever in the car fully hitting the proper stops. For instance, when I put it in reverse, I can feel the trans click into reverse, but the shift lever in the car hasn't come back far enough to hit the "stop" that keeps it from going into Park. So I could very easily bump the shifter from Reverse to Park.

I tried loosening the nut under the car where the shift lever connects to the linkage and seeing if I could get any more slack out of it, but it would appear I've run out of slack, so I'm not sure how to fix this problem.
