Have any of you guys shipped a complete motor ?
If so any tips on biulding a boxed in pallet ?
The 302 Boss motor will be traveling quite a ways on a tractor trailer and I dont want it to get tossed around.
Whats the best way to strap it down,
Any thoughts are appreciated.

First of all you will need to drain ALL fluids.

Go get yourself a nice OAK (full size) pallet, a binch of 2x4s, a screw gun and saw.

Then build your frame to set the motor on.

I would consider getting a metal engine cradle ($35 + shipping on ebay) and building around that.

I shipped an engine x country and they required that it be boxed. Top, ends and sides mounted on a pallet. These things are heavy, as if I need to tell you,. On the other hand, I received a "crate" engine from ATK and it was just poly wrapped to the pallet. There are crating services also. Just check with the shipper of your choice for the final word. ::
