I see that several companies including Coker offer complete wheel and tire packages.....how are these shipped? I've seen many tires on UPS trucks, and some on FedEx, but how do I go about shipping 1 tire and wheel assembly?? do I need to box the darn thing?? any guess as to how much it would cost to ship a 1957514 tire on a 14" wheel from Florida to Texas? Thanks!!

I ship stuff all the time and have both a UPS and FedX accounts. You need to weight the package. Gonline to UPS or FedX .com and create an account (free). With your ship-to and bill to handy, complete the required fields. Both shipping companies will bill you. You will have the opportunity to print a receipt and shipping label. Once printed, tape the label to securely to the side of the tire, or with the rim installed, yto the inside "clean" flat surface. I don't to advise the combo should be clean.
You can drop these off at any UPS store. At least we have them here in the mid-atlantic.
Good Luck!

For each tire/wheel, cut 2 pieces of round cardboard that are a little bitter than the wheel. Then tape the cardboard to cover both the front and rear of the rim....tire will be exposed. This will protect the wheel. Weigh it, measure L/W/H, and go to the UPS or Fedex website and enter that info and they will give you an estimate on how much it would cost.

Yes to the cardboard- they charge additional for exposed materials. As mentioned earlier, tape 2 round coins front and back to cover the steel but the tire can be exposed. If you want to save a little money, fill the tire with helium before shipping......... lol

I shipped 4-wheels/tires to Florida before.

I cut circular cardboard shapes to cover & protect the wheel face. Then, I wrapped it in plastic shipping wrap, weigh it and slap a shipping sticker on it.

*You might want to put the shipping info on the cardboard in case the shipping label comes off.
