Shipping or hauling...

520 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  mrgem
I plan on taking my car hauler east to the St. Louis area to pick up a car there and a hood in Amarillo on the way home. I'd like to haul a car or large parts for someone to help defray costs, but what would I be letting myself in for? What rights and responsibilities would I have if I did something like this for gas money?

Jim- You might want to get the owner of the car to sign some kind of release holding you harmless in the event of an accident that damages their car. Also, If cash changes hands, you become a commercial hauler, which would probably drive your insurance rates thru the ceiling.
