Ok, is it worth my buying the KYB shocks for 20-30 bucks a pop or should I just go with the monroe which range from like 10-18 bucks each? Will there be that much of a difference? Thanks for the help.

Yes, there is a difference. The KYBs are stiffer and will give you a firmer, more sports car like ride. I have over 100k on mine and they stil feel great!

I agree with VictorII. The KYB shocks are more performance oriented and will give a firm ride. The Monroes will be a little softer and not as harsh but less performance too. Choose according to your driving style and intentions.

This is old post but anyway. I have Konis front and KYB Gas-A-Justs rear. And I can't tell the difference between them. But to basics, they are not shock absorbers. They are dampers. They damp the bouncing of the spring which is (to my understanding) the shock absorber actually.
