Im getting ready to make a decision on the wheels and tires for my 67 coupe.

I want white letter tires if possible 馃憥 on Radial TAs, (y) on Cooper Cobras, so that limits my tire sizes.

I have a set of 14x6 Torino GT wheels. The trim rings and hubcaps are not great but DD OK. 215/70/14 or 225/70/14

TTD 14x6/14x7 with the same 215/70/14 or 225/70/14. 3.66" and 3.75" BS

15x7 VN501 4" BS, the aluminum Magnum 500 look-a-like with 215/65/15

17x7 VN501 with 215/55/17, no white letters

Im going for the Vintage Mustang look vs outright performance.

All those choices are around 26" tire height.

Question: How will the 15x7 or 17x7 with 4" BS and a 26" tall tire fit the front of my 67? I dont want to bang the fenders in a turn or on a bump.

I'm still running 14s in Cobras on mine and Tiger Paw AWPs on my son's.

In my opinion "the vintage mustang look" means no modern era seventeens and a 17" Magnum 500 "Style" isn't fooling anyone. Given that a factory stock suspension allowed for a whopping tall (nearly 27") 215/70/15 no problemo, a 215/65/15 will fit height-wise. The 4" b.s. you mention isn't optimum however (4.25" is) and that means a bit more negative camber might be in order. As critical as proper backspacing/offset is, suspension height is a big factor too (see all the notes in Dodgestang's chart as evidence of that). What's your scenario there? Stock or lowered and if the latter, by what means?

I've got 235/60s on 7x15x4bs and they do rub a little even with rolled fenders and some neg. camber. I think 215s would be ok, maybe even 225s. I also think that if I had 4.25 bs I'd be ok.
Edit: I'm lowered about 1-2".

DoctorC, nice car. Generally I dont like the contrasting color louvers, but those are really nice. Wheels are a nice fit as well.

Since Im going from a 200 to 289, I need to replace all four springs. Im going with either stock or mid-eye leafs and either GT coils or ClassicPerformance coilovers.

Im not really considering the 17s, it allows for more tire options if I decided to go with more of a performance setup, but I like the tall sidewalls of 14 or 15s on a Vintage Mustang.

I really like the Magnums on my white car, not sure if I want to go with a 7" wheel with 4" BS.

My 65 has 15x7 with 4.25 BS and fit fine, but Im going with a 25" tall 65 series tire.
