Yes, it's true. If the car would be used strictly at the track, i'd remove the sway bar. My 66 coupe is drag strip only and it has been removed. But if you are going to driving the car on the street, it would handle terrible. What you could do is loosen, or remove the end links down at the track. Then tighten them up if you need to drive it home.
