When I built my Mustang, I built it to drive. I enjoy getting out on the back roads and experiencing the feel of the car, the sounds and sights. What drives have you taken in your classic Mustang that are memorable.

This weekend, I took another drive on a very familiar road near me, the Tail of the Dragon. I went with a group of friends and had the only classic car there that day.

Started the drive off at the 129Hub.

The Tail of the Dragon offers plenty of great turns.

My 1968 Mustang was the oldest car at the meet. I had no problems keeping up though.

This was a great way to test out the new gauges. I need to find a way to reduce the glare on the glass, any suggestions?

When has there been good enough weather to ride Tail of the Dragon? I have my motorcycles ready to go but the weather has been terrible this winter. Last time I was up there was just before Thanksgiving. Nice and sunny around Asheville, got up on the mountains and fog and cold. Still waiting on spring.

It was nice yesterday. The road was clear and dry.

Lots of places in between. Almost all thanks to 4 different Hot Rod Power Tours. I've probably put 12K miles on the car from Power Tours alone.

The car is ass down in all the pics from from tools, luggage, etc. For the 2018+ tours I went on the car had a fully rebuilt rear end with brand new Eaton GT springs. No more saggy bottom. Those were all from the 2014/2015/2016 Power Tours. I didn't take many in 2018 as I was never much more than 4-6 hours from home at any time. We did almost a big circle around where I live.

Still a little way from having the 65 ready for the Dragon but hope to hit it with the Slingshot in a few months.

I went with a large group and ended up at the back of the line on the way out. I was mostly by myself on the way back.

So far I have been limited to cars and coffee events...but am trying to finish up the car (interior and side glass is all that is left) over the winter so I can spend more time behind the wheel this spring/summer/fall. Want to get my car on the auto-x course this summer.

Have about 600 shakedown miles on her so far. I'm pleased with how she pulls; here's a quick video clip. It was cold so traction was lousy and I hit the soft limiter in 1st...and 2nd.

Due to Canadian winters we try to get as many trips as we can during the months that are good enough to get away.I built the car so that long road trips were safe and comfortable.
A few of the more notable places that we have been to are;
Louisville Ky
Springfield Il
Augusta Ga
Asheville Nc
Warwick Ri
Indianapolis In
Lincoln Ne
Savannah Ga
Myrtle Beach Sc
plus many of other trips to places in Canda and the US.
Most of the trips were to MCA shows where we stayed and toured the particular area for a week or so.
