I just found another source for the previously posted Shrink-to-fit coolant hose clamps. McMaster-Carr!! I just love thumbing thru that catalog. I should keep a copy in my bathroom...
I may have to give those a try. They have got to look better than the stainless straps. I bet they'd fit better under the braid covers for people using those.
Take a look at this. Instructions on how to use the clamps from Popular Mechanics. They make them sound like really good stuff.
The McMaster-Carr page also has a link to their installation instructions.
PM does seem to prefer this type of shrink clamp over the alternates. McMaster-Carr also has the hose clamps with a tensioning spring to keep things under pressure even when cold.
