I decided to go from single exhaust to dual exhaust on my 69 coupe. She's got a 302 in her right now, but eventually I'm going to drop a 351 in her (VIN shows her as an H code, so I'm not sure how the 302 got there). I know I need to consider the size of the exhaust now if I intend to put a larger engine in ... is there anything else you can think of I should worry about right now before/during the conversion?

Also, what offset should I go with on the mufflers? I love the sound of my buddy's Flowmasters, but since he's on vacation I can't find out what offset he went with. Any suggestions there? 2.25" or 2.5"? Still new around the bottom of a car (or the engine compartment for that matter) so any advice you can give is welcome and appreciated.

Thanks

I read a exhaust report in one of the magazines I get, and the optimum
exhaust they came up with is 2.5" in front of the mufflers with a X pipe and
2.25" after the mufflers (full tail pipes). Full race used 3" with the X before
and 2.5" after the mufflers. Hope this helps.
