I've got a Mustang toploader that has a "28-spline" output shaft. I need a driveshaft/slip yoke to match it. I found a fairlane V8 (63-260) with a 3 speed that had what appeared to be a good driveshaft and slip yoke. I counted the "peaks" in the splined receptor of the slip yoke and I come up with 27, plus a wide keyway. The gearbox is 400 miles away, so I cannot just try it out. Any idea if these two are compatible?

BTW, this stuff is going in my 65 Cyclone.

TIA

IIRC, most C4's and many toploaders have 28 spline output shafts....

Not too long ago, I put a pinion yoke from a 9" rear onto an 28 spline axle shaft just to see if the diameter and spline count were the same...fit perfect.

I wouldnt be surprised if a 28 spline tranny yoke also fit over the splines of a 28 spline axle shaft.
