My heads are the Cleveland style smoggers that originally had the external air logs (California car). I have removed the air logs, and plugged the holes into the heads with the Ford specified plugs. The plugs stick out quite a bit still. Therefor, the headers will have to have a relief scallop to fit correctly. Has anyone ever put headers on these heads? If so, what headers did you use? Hedman is telling me that they cannot accomodate me with their new shorties. Will JBA's work? What about Tri-Y's? Thanks for the help.

This was covered on the old forum, I think the consensus was to use a flush plug for the air injector holes. My 302 has them with Tri-Y's

JBA's will not work without serious grinding. The plugs are fine thred (20 count). I do not remember the size, but allen head plugs are available. Use some locktite, fit them flush and install headers.
