Howdy all.

Well, the vert is running great, at least compared to a month ago.

I figured out that the poor running when hot was due to a bad ignition coil

I have had the car tuned up and timing set by a "pro" and he told me he had
all the timing set correctly.

Now I've run thru a full tank of gas and the new coil is working fine.

But there is still this slight hesitation when I take my foot off the brake and tap
the gas pedal. If I push a little harder, there is no hesitation - the car takes off
and will even flip the rear tires.

Cruising along at 40 MPH the car runs fine. Acceleration is great - fun even. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I have a newly rebuilt 260 V8 with a newly refurbed Pony Carbs Autolite 2 barrel.

Is there something easy I can try to get the car to stop hesitating on a regular
attempt to pull away from a stop?

What are you running for distributor? When I went to a new MSD my car did the same thing. What I found out was that a point set up only has about 8 volts going to it. My new set up needed 12 volts. Once I ran 12 volts to it car ran fine. Good Luck

Check the accel pump on the carb there should be no slop between the linkage and the diaphram. Make sure not to adjust it soo much as to bottom the accel pump at wide open throttle.

I still have the *gasp* original ford distributor that came with the engine when it
was new. It has been refitted with new points recently, and regreased.
