Since the tranny in the 65 is a later unit with that pattern, I thought I would just swap that out when I take the console out for refurb. But all I'm finding are the green dot variety. Might just have to get crafty here.

What about using a 67 shift bezel?

Console is flat. And the 67 console piece is completely different.

Oh I see...still using the console. Hmmm... I've never taken one of the curved ones apart, but is the insert for the indicator possibly flexible? Maybe a nice airbrushed job on the back side of a 65-66 slider that had most or all the paint removed...

I did the exact same thing with my car. My solution was to buy a '67 shifter and weld the '65 console brackets onto the later unit.
I had tried to notch the original to match the " PRND21" later style, but it didn't work out well.
