I have a floor shifter from a 68 coupe with a C4 tranny, will it work in my fastback with a C6? And will the driveshaft fit on the 9" rear if it came off an 8" rear?

Someone please buy my Ski Doo!

The shifter body itself should work, the shifter rod to the tranny underneath I believe may be different for the two.The nine inch uses a shorter drive shaft I believe-the center protrudes out more than an 8" or it may be that the C6 tranny overall is longer than the C4.My one book is showing that a 68 mustang with 390 and C6 takes a 3" by 46 37/64" driveshaft, a 289 with C4 trans shaft is listed at 3" by 50 1/32" for a 68.

When I swapped my 8" for a 9" i had no problems with the drive shaft, but I think I might have just been lucky.
