Just driving around town my car is really loud from the interior. It seems to me that there might be some places where adding sound deadener would really help to reduce noise in the car. Has anyone tried to do this and did it work? What kind of sound deadener did you use?

I did my car floor with a product called B-quiet. It's like dynamat but cheaper. It did quiet it down. Just make sure
all floor modification are completed, I moved my seat pans after putting down the sound deadener, it is pain to remove.

On a better than new showcar condition 1966 VW Beetle Convertible I used roofing tar paper shingles and tar thru out the floor pan and chassis. Very quiet considering air cooled engines tend to be noisy.

I used that roofing stuff too, and it worked quite well. It does an excellent job of keeping the undercarriage heat out of the car, and reduces the road noise too. I covered the entire floor, from firewall to the back seat, with the stuff. Anything will be better than nothing at all. Good luck.
