You guys know the covers that you put on your spark plug to prevent oil fouling. Well I took my car to the shop and they had put one of these on for one of the cylinders. And it worked good for a couple of days then it started missing again like a fouled up spark plug. I took it in and they took the spark plug that was acting up out in front of me then put it in the vise and took the cover off. And to my surprise and theres there was nothing there, where the ceramic was, was nothing, from there up. They said they thought that some gas built up inside and created it's own combustion chamber and blew the insides out. All of them said they had never seen anything like or ever tried it in an old I6.

Thanks John

happens when you overtighten them
the excessive torque deforms the spark plug shell and the insulator cracks and fails
