I am putting my Mustang back together after giving the floorpans the POR15 treatment. I am replacing the speedo cable because I learned that when you allow the casing of your cable to touch the exhaust pipe they will leak tranny fluid from the exposed casing. On a T5 anyway...
So I am replacing the cable. Where it goes into the floorboard is a big hole with no rubber grommet. I can't find the grommet in a catalog and a new one was not included in the Scott Drake cable I bought. Where can I find one? It looks like it might be the foam rubber kind...
TIA,

No one repro's the rubber sponge-like grommet. I would suggest some foam tubing from a HVAC or plumbing department used to insulate cold lines.

What is the diameter of the hole you are trying to grommetize?

The original grommet was a physical part of the speedo cable and cannot be reused :(

Thanks everyone. I was thinking I was going to have to make a trip to Home Depot. Thanks Midlife.
I think the hole I need to fill is about an 1 1/2" to 2". You would think Scott Drake would include it on the replacement cable. Bit that would make it too easy...

I know there are some guys on here who had one included with their speedo-cable. I'd find out who it was, return yours, and buy from the other place.
