I thought some of you might find this interesting. Factory Five (the kit Cobra guys) have set up a webpage with Spy Photos and info on their new "supercar kit".

Kind of interesting.........

What better way to get info out about a new item than to "leak" an internet rumor! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

That is definitely the way to pick up groceries in style!! What chassis is it on and how much? That is the scary part I would wager.

That car reminds me of one of those old...

The car is a mid-engine platform with an 8" steel round tube backbone chassis. Construction is characteristic FFR aluminum chassis panels over a steel tube frame. The plan is to use a small block Ford or Chevrolet engine and Audi transaxle with an optional high horsepower/torque unit. Pricing for this kit is targeted at $20-25K.

That sounds very reasonable to me, and man is it gorgeous. Long as it doesn't ride like a log wagon.

Man, that is sweet!

What about cup holders and lighted vanity mirrors? Where can I install my 21" subs? Get good gas mileage? And uh... I have these giant fuzzy dice...

Just for YOU, Art, I was able to source these COOL cupholders to fit that car!

You can get them at Russ's Garage

Gas mileage concerns would be alleviated with the installation of a 2.0 Zetec Focus motor, and probably fit your driving style a lot better than a nasty, rumbling V8! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I think 21" subs might mount good on the rear wing.....

Yep, I saw that too....

The biggest news is this kit will only be offered to Factory Five customers for up to the first two years.

The plan is to reward loyal customers and control production quantities. Specifically, Factory Five Racing plans to restrict sales to customers who either own an FFR serial numbered vehicle, or who have purchased and/or built an FFR kit previously.

I'll bet they'll be "out there" sooner than 2 years..../forums/images/icons/wink.gif
