I’m looking to get a rigid stainless steel fuel line to go from mechanical pump to edelbrock 1406 carb (600cfm)
one website claims to sell them but description says the carb inlet is on the drivers side. Both eddy carbs I own have an inlet on passenger side.
I don’t mind a small section of rubber hose in place which will also help with a break in vibration but needs to get me close
Thanks

Get a stainless one for a 66 289 4 V. The inlet is on the passenger side.
Great looking engine by the way!

Clean looking engine bay as well as engine. What is the flexible braided line for, your power steering? If you wanted, you could always use something like that to go from your inner fender to your fuel pump as well as from your fuel pump up to your carburetor and make your own lines yourself. I just did something similar and used Earl's brand of braided/nylon fuel line as well as their hose fittings and a Holley inline fuel filter in between for better "peace of mind".

I bought a Classic tube? That wraps around front of distributor, then I hand bent it slightly to point toward the passenger side of carb, then I bought an L shaped hard line that connects on carb and runs just above intake forward, also added some an6? parts and a rubber nipple, and less than 2 inches of rubber hose to connect filter to hard line from pump.

Also a 1965 289 line has the threaded fitting on the pump end AND at the carb end to thread directly to the carb because of the cannister filter on the 65 pump. You could adapt a threaded hard line from the 65 type carb end directly to the Edelbrock carb inlet and have zero rubber to worry about.

Make your own fuel line!
Get a small fuel line tubing bending kit and a flairing tool.
Consider aluminum tubing, it bends easier than stainless steel. But u probably want stainless for looks, right!
This way, u can make what u need.
BTW, nice looking engine. 🙂

No real reason other than that’s what I want. The look mostly. I had the a stainless line from the old 289 I removed but don’t quite reach without a decent length of rubber on there.
Fair enough. Do you have any fuel filters in your car? If you have the standard 1965 fuel pump with the filter built into it then that works out well. I have an aftermarket Holley brand fuel pump and they recommend running a fuel filter between the pump and the carburetor, especially if you don't have one before the pump. So I bought the following hose, hose fittings and fuel filter that I placed between the pump and the carburetor. If you don't have a fuel filter, you should definitely consider one, which if you buy hard lines then you'll either have to cut the fuel line kit that you buy and install one, or make your own hard lines and put one in instead.

Get the Edelbrock #8131 Inlet line and Filter kit and the '65 fuel line. Use a 1/2-20 female to -6AN male adapter on the pump to carb fuel line and a -6AN coupler between the adapter and Edelbrock filter.

Or the Edelbrock #8102 kit that comes with everything already pre-assembled for you, including the inline fuel filter, from the fuel pump up to the carburetor for $104.

Thanks for all the replies. I will make my own hardline out of stainless or maybe aluminum. I’ve got a flare tool and done a few brake lines in the past.
stainless defiantly harder to work with.
I do have an inline filter and the edelbrock banjo fitting.
I ordered a fitting to go from 5/16” flare to 6AN female

I wouldn't use aluminum (too brittle) or stainless (doesn't work well with aluminum fuel pumps and carburetor bodies - galvanic corrosion). If corrosion-resistance is your goal, along with ease of bending and flaring, use NiCopp or CuNiFer. You can typically find various lengths of pre-flared 5/16" line at your auto parts store... measure your old line lay out the path for your new line using a coat hanger(s) and measure THAT, and use it as a template to bend your new line.

Aluminum isn’t a real good idea and stainless is a pain in the a** to work with.
