10 degrees BTDC timing, 7 blade fan, thermo clutch, shroud, 60% coolant and a 13 pound cap. Done.

I started sweating (figuratively and literally) when my engine temp was creeping into the 240's and 250. ;)
I fixed it with two strong pullers and then a pusher in front of the AC condenser - yes three fans. Overkill in your situation. LOL

I'd love to hear a definitive, scientific answer on this. Cause when I watch Engine Masters and those guys are shooting for the most HP, they run engines at like 165*F. Conversely, I've always heard that the hotter the engine can safely run without overheating, the more efficient it is.
The colder the engine, the more dense air you can get in. For them it's all about Hp/
