This job doesnt look like fun; i have to replace the stoplight switch (which i have spare) but i dont know how.

Does the brake pedal have to come off? Is it tricky?
any tricks to it?

What am in for?!

Thanks,

Gary

IT was tricky but not too hard, what I did was remove the driver's seat. That way I could lay flat on my back and work much eazier.

But how do you actually do it; i mean is there a lot to it?

Do several parts have to come off?

Sorry, but this one has me by the throat!

Thanks,

Gary

Haynes Manual

1 Remove switch.

2 Reverse order to replace.

Here is the trick on a 66 anyway. It may be similar on a 68.

Rule number 1.... Do NOT pull the pedal pin all the way out! Do not LET the pin come out. If you do you will become very religious.

Look at the new switch. You will have a round hole on one side and the hole will be open on the other.

Disconnect the battery and then the wire on the switch. Trust me .

Gently take off the cotter pin and the washer. Slide the pin only enough far enough to get the hole on the switch free. The switch will pull straight up because of the U shaped hole.

Good luck.
