On my 70 convert on the lower end of the steering column where the shaft comes out of the tube the shaft is rubbing on the tube itself. In books I've looked at there is only a plastic bushing at the end to hold the shaft in place. Is this correct or should there be something else there to hold the shaft more centered. The bushing I took out is quite flimsy

I know on the 65 to 67 at least, the lower housing tube has a black molded rubber -ish type piece which fits into tube and snugly over shaft to keep tube centered, I believe they are being repo'd now, not sure if the same for a 70.I used one of a 65 column to fix the missing one on my 67 which has the column with coupler.
