Getting ready for round 2. Again, here's what I've done - replaced booster/mc with a new SSBC one. Bled the system many times. The pedal has a soft feel to it and the car does not stop very well. If you hit the brakes hard they won;t lock up or panic stop the car. I adjusted the booster rod today (adjusted out - brakes locked when hot - turned back in until brakes won;t lock) - seems to be in the right spot. I'm at a loss. It has a 3 outlet distribution block and an old Proportioning valve. Could one of these items be causing a spongy pedal/poor braking? Any other suggestions. Thanks for the help already - hoping to get this solved. Thanks. Mike

Does you firewall flex when you press the brakes? Ask an assistant to apply the brakes while you watch the MC for movement. It should not move at all.

thanks for the reply. I did bench bleed the mc and I did notice the booster/mc moving a little when I hit the brakes - do you think the firewall has something to do with it?
