Right side motor mounts on the vert have been splitting at a rate of three per year.
I recently have found the ultimate replacement. It is a regular mount but it is actually screwed together rather bonded. Basically a soft solid mount.
Here is the problem.
I can never get the horizontal bolt to align?
I support the engine with a jack...old one fall sright out.
Go to install the new one...engine will not set back down far enough? Tried everything...anybody got a ideas on htis problem...and yes I did consider a match and a gas. :: can.

Since you said horizontal bolt, I guess this is a 66?

I think there were like 4 different engine mounts from 1966-1973. All were very similar so the aftermarket combined all for only one replacement part... And it doesn't fit!

My favorite tool for "making" them work is a giant pair of channel/lock pliers.
