Maybe its only me but I have a narrow range of interests on VMF, things related to my car options, possible future mods, and cars about the same age. I'd like to skip msgs about things and cars that are out of my areas of interest. A lot of msgs have very general subject titles like "Oh, Oh Trouble" or "Look At This"" or even "Carb Problem". It would save a lot of downloading time if the year and specific subject were listed, like " '70 Tranny Problem" or "Holly Tuning" so readers have some idea of what the msg is about. If you look at a msg with an unspecific title, it might have 150 or more readers. I can't believe that all 150 were interested in the msg. Am I alone on this? What do you think, should we try for more specific msg titles?

I think I see another "no more questions about titles" or "don't answer a post with the same answer somebody else gave..."

...of VMF is the multiplicity of interests, posts, and wayward threads. Many of us read 'em all, simply to learn and such. We discussed separating the forum into different categories, and, although some thought it would be a good idea, we generally seem happy about the situation as it resides. Basically, no one is forcing anyone to read any post...it is up to you to read or not read.

Good point...
As someone on the other side of the street, so to speak, I end up skipping many of the generic questions simply because I don't have the time.....too many specific questions to research and answer...

Having said that, aren't you glad a number of us read this post and offered a response, even though it had nothing to do with a Pony question...??*G*

I guess we can always hope....

I just plain and simple skip any post I can't figure out from the post what it is, unless it's got a boatload of replies - then it might be interesting. I never look at the viewed number, because as you said, lots of people go in to see what it is and then say forget it.
