Personally I bought a new fuel bowl fitting to come out of the carb with double flare tubing, bought some stainless tubing from Summit and mounted a fuel filter on the pump that was also double flare. This eliminates all hose in the system and cleans it up. Pics below.

Good luck. And bear in mind that stainless is a Bi*ch to double flare. If I was going to do it again, I'd consider aluminum. Summit sells that too.
