total rookie question here, but i have a 1966 coupe that i am attached to, but i would like a little more get up and go so i am wondering about the feasibility of swapping the 200 cu.in 6cyl for a 289.

is this simply a replacement of the motor or do i start getting into the transmission and lots of other components to pull this off?

Thanks for the time.

Try usijng the search function, as you will find alot of information.

My car was originally a 6. They engine and transmission were in it when I got it, but I had to replace the suspension.

You will need to replace the rear end with 8" or 9", 5 lug nut unit. The front end will need new springs, spindles, brakes, and linkages. It is best if you can find a donor car. Plan on $500 +. This would be the time to swap to Granada disc brakes.
