are they any axle modifications required when changing from the stock non-posi differential to an Auburn posi-trak differential ? the posi unit, in the pictures, just looks wider than the stock diff. unit. I have the entire rearend and 3rd member disassembled right now and want to put some posi back in her.

I used an Auburn 8 inch and my axles slipped right in.

Just did this, nothing required. You'll like it.

The unit is a direct-fit bolt in. Remember to check your wheel bearings while you have the axle's out. Use a press in solid spacer in place of the standard "crush in" sleeve. This will give you a tighter setup and allow you to change the pinion yoke or seal without affecting your setup or pinion bearing preload. The 8" will take up to 450 RWHP just fine. Just make sure to use traction bars to minimize wheel hop. The 8" do not seem to like a lot of hop with high horsepower - can you say ##&^%)_#) what are those parts I see....
