On my '67 Fastback, I am going to install a tach (didn't come with one from the factory).

I've never put one on, so bear with me. The positive lead on my coil has a lead to the firewall. That lead is joined by the oil pressure sensor and manifold temp sensor (I think that is right) and connect into a three-lead plug in harness at the firewall.

Is the lead from the coil for a tach? How do I recognize that lead under the dash (should it just be hanging there)?

I haven't done anything to it yet. I just want an operating tach with a minimal of wiring sticking out all over the place
