Ok, I got a good deal (free, yee haa!) on a mini tach to fit in my speedometer cluster where the clock would normally go. I never had a clock, so this should work just fine. I mounted it in there, and all's well.

My question: One of the wire comes off the tach light (this must go to the + light switch), the second appears to be a ground, and the third is the signal wire. Do I hook the signal wire directly to the positive side of the coil?

Negative side of the coil if I am not mistaken.

Try it on the positive side of the coil and if the engine runs
backwards just move it to the negative side <wink>

Actually, NEGATIVE side of the coil is correct.
